Burglar Shot At Northeast Side Business
5/11/2004
Posted By: Angela Becerra

A burglar on the northeast side picks the wrong business to mess with.
He’s in the hospital after being shot by the owner.

The man tried to break into an auto customizing shop off of Schertz Rd.
and Interstate 35 at 11 p.m. Monday.

The burglar set off an alarm, which alerted the owner of the break-in.
The owner ran to the shop from his house, and confronted the suspect as
he tried to escape by jumping over a razor wire fence.

The burglar didn’t surrender, and the owner shot him once in the
shoulder.

The burglar was taken to a hospital. He’s expected to recover.

Police say the owner has not been charged.
