Intruder Shot and Killed
VISTA, CA – (5-10-03) Authorities in Vista are investigating a shooting
that left an apparent intruder dead early Friday morning. It happened
just after 6am on the 900 block of La Rueda Road. According to
investigators, a former friend of one of the residents was observed on
the property. When Philip Stuckey, another resident, made contact with
the man, he allegedly threatened Stuckey with a knife. Stuckey told
deputies that he returned to the house and armed himself with a shotgun.
The man reportedly followed Stuckey into the house and at that point
Stuckey shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are
continuing to investigate the incident.
